Grassroots Evangelism Ministries (GEMS) 5-Year Retrospec and Sharing 4/29/2022
Dear co-workers, brothers and sisters, and intercessors,
Grassroots Evangelism Ministries (GEMS) (predecessor: Heralds Restaurant Gospel Fellowship) has just crossed its 5th anniversary. Thanks to our Lord! He has brought more than 160 people to His salvation, and over 60 brothers and sisters have been baptized. Up till the present in 2022, 10 have received Christ and 3 have been baptized. When the weather gets warmer and stable this summer, we will have 12 brothers and sisters ready to be baptized. The celebration of baptism is becoming our in-person gathering, which also includes worship and communion. In the last two years, 15 online classes have been regularly scheduled every week, with subjects being divided into: Old/New Testaments, Foundation of Faith, Faith in Life, Age Group, Baptism, conversational English. There are over 70 students and 10 teachers signed up, averaging over 150 attendance in each week.
GEMS vision and mission goals are blessed by our Father God: The Gospel has reached 3 generations of the grassroots families, from the age of 8 to 90+ years old, and over 150 people have attended our weekly online courses. Online students are coming from Massachusetts, Florida, Minnesota, Washington State, Southern California, Sacramento, and the Greater Bay Area. In addition to participants from the restaurant industry, there are now workers from massage parlors, supermarkets, home care, food delivery, passenger pickup, and renovations coming to our weekly meetings. The “Gospel Golden Verse” evangelism class began in May last year. There are now 40 graduates, who are now equipped to evangelize to children, the elderly and the grassroots workers.
At this time, we have no plan to resume weekly in-person gatherings. The reasons are as follows: 1. we have too many working schedules from different industries, 2. the rising cost of gas, and 3. considerations about covid-19 precautions. Our 2021 annual mission objective “ReShape Your Life, Rebuild Your Family” is truly blessed by the Lord. Please pray for GEMS 2022 annual mission goal “to Live out our Faith, to Grow and Bear Fruits”, encompassing every participating brothers and sisters to be empowered by the Holy Scripture and the Holy Spirit to live out the will of our Abba Father, and to reconcile with and to rejoice in Him.
Praise the Lord in using me to serve grassroots workers for the past 14 years on a full-time no pay/volunteered basis. I also thank Him for bringing more than 40 volunteers to GEMS; these are brothers, sisters and pastors coming from more than ten different churches to serve in GEMS. 「信望爱之家」基层福音团契外展事工 5 年回顾分享 4/29/2022
亲爱的同工、弟兄姐妹，和代祷者，
「信望爱之家」(前身：角声餐福团契) 刚刚踏入5周年。 非常感谢我们的主，在这5年里，我们有160多人接受了基督，60多人受了洗。2022年至今，我们有9位接受了基督，3位已受了洗。在今个夏季，当天气转暖和稳定时，我们將会有12位朋友准备受洗。洗礼的庆祝亦成为了我们实体的聚会，还包括有敬拜和圣歺礼仪。在教道方面，现在每周已安排了超过15堂网课，总括分为: 新/旧约丶信仰基础丶信仰生命丶年龄组丶洗礼丶英语。 稳定来参加的学生超过 70人，也有10多位老师来任教。 每周參加人次已超过 140 人。感恩。
我们的异象和使命真的蒙父神的祝福: 福音已经传到了基层人家庭的3代，从 8 岁到 90多岁，过百人参加网上课程。参加者已联系到波士顿、佛罗里达、明尼苏达、华盛顿州、南加、北加首府、和大湾区。参加者亦从餐馆行业扩展到按摩、超市、家庭护理、送食品，乘客接送，和装修行业。从去年5月开始的「福音金句」传福音班，至今已有四十位毕业生，学会甚样与小朋友，年长者和基层人传福音。
目前我们还没有打算计划恢复定期实体聚会。 原因是，现在有太多不同行业的工作时间、汽油价上升和关顾到covid-19预防措施。2021 的展望標題「重整生命，重建家庭」是真实的在主内成全了。请大家为「信望爱之家」2022 代祷，让所有來参与的弟兄姊妹都能借着圣经与圣灵来活出父神的心意，与神和好，以神为乐。因此，今年的主題是「信仰生活化，成长结果子」。
再次感恩，主使用我全时间义务来服侍基层行业人仕已有14年，祂还带给「信望爱之家」4O多位义务同工，来自十多个教会的弟兄姐妹和牧者，來一同服侍衪。
