Grassroots Evangelism Ministries (GEMS) 9-Year Retrospec and Sharing 4/22/2026
Dear co-workers, brothers and sisters, and all prayer partners who faithfully support us,
We give thanks to the Lord that since the establishment of GEMS in 2017 (formerly the Restaurant Gospel Fellowship), we have continually witnessed His faithful work among us. In 2025, 68 people came to faith in Christ, of whom 22 were baptized. In the first quarter of 2026, 9 more have come to faith. Currently, over 140 students participate in our live, interactive online classes each week, for which we are truly grateful.
GEMS is neither a home church nor a small group gathering. Rather, it is an online teaching platform dedicated to helping students come to know Christ and be equipped to become His disciples through real-time interactive learning. At the same time, this platform provides an opportunity for those who are unable to attend in-person Sunday services to come to know Jesus Christ online. At present, we do not have plans to offer online worship services.
Looking back on the past five years, GEMS has led more than 250 people to faith in Christ, among whom over 70 believers continue to participate in weekly online classes. In addition to biblical teaching, our ministry also includes in-person care, home visits, restaurant outreach, baptisms, and evangelism training and practice.
Since the launch of the “GEMS Evangelism Training (GET)” class in May 2021, a total of 165 students have graduated, learning how to share the gospel with children, the elderly, and grassroots communities. Among them, 12 students graduated in 2025. We have also begun developing an 8-page gospel booklet, with the hope of further equipping believers to share the gospel more effectively.
In terms of biblical teaching, we currently offer more than 15 real-time interactive online classes each week, covering areas such as foundational faith, spiritual growth, baptism classes, and evangelism training. Classes are conducted in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, and are organized by age groups to meet the diverse needs of participants. In the past, our ministry primarily served the working-age population. However, over the past two years, the Lord has also brought children and elderly participants (ranging from their 70s to over 90 years old) into our online classes. From 2024 to the end of 2025, the number of retired participants aged 70 and above has grown to over 30. In addition, individuals in rehabilitation and high school students have gradually become part of our outreach focus. For all these, we give thanks to the Lord.
Since its inception, the vision and mission of GEMS have been richly blessed by the Father. The gospel has reached grassroots individuals from diverse backgrounds, languages, cultures, and regions, as well as their families and neighbors. God has also continually guided adjustments to our online class schedules, gradually overcoming geographical and language barriers. In North America, our online students come from multiple states; overseas participants include those from Hong Kong, mainland China, Canada, and the United Kingdom. In California, our reach has expanded from the Bay Area to the state capital region and further into Southern California. Participants come from a wide range of occupations, growing from primarily the restaurant industry to include massage therapy, supermarkets, home care, food delivery, passenger transportation, as well as moving and construction work. In addition to in-person baptisms, we have conducted online baptisms for several years, bearing ongoing witness to God’s work and His faithful leading.
GEMS 2026 Outlook and Prayer Requests:
- That all participants in the online classes may, through the Word of God, ministry, the Holy Spirit, and fellowship with believers, live out the will of the Father;
- That we may continue to uphold our established teaching approach, guiding believers to know the Father and to receive and experience His great love from His perspective;
- That the Lord will lead us to complete the entire 13 teaching series (see flow chart below for details) in the coming year, as we mark our 10th anniversary;
- That the Lord will bring to fulfillment the 2026 theme: “A New Creation in Christ, A New Person in His Spirit, A New Wineskin in God’s Kingdom.”
Once again, we give thanks to the Lord for allowing me to serve full-time on a voluntary basis among grassroots workers for the past 18 years. He has also brought together more than 40 volunteer co-workers for GEMS, including brothers, sisters, and pastors from over ten churches, to serve together in this ministry.
We also continue to give financially to those in need, contribute to disaster relief efforts, and support missionaries. By God’s grace, we do not carry the burden of rent or salary expenses, and GEMS has not needed to seek funding from churches, non-profit organizations, or government sources. Nevertheless, we sincerely ask for your prayers and your help in sharing about this ministry, as we seek to proclaim the Great Commandment and the Great Commission together.

「信望爱之家」基层福音团契外展事工 9 年回顾分享 4/22/2026
亲爱的同工、弟兄姊妹，以及一直以祷告支持我们的代祷者:
感谢主，「信望爱之家」自2017年成立（前身为餐馆福音团契「餐福」）以来，持续见证主的作为。去年共有68人信主，其中22人受洗；而在2026年第一季度，已有9位信主。目前，每周参与即时互动网课的学生人数已超过140位。
「信望爱之家」并不是家庭教会，也不是小组聚会，而是一个线上教导平台。我们透过即时互动的方式，帮助学生认识基督，并学习如何作祂的门徒。同时，这个平台也为那些在主日无法到实体教会聚会的朋友，提供一个在网上认识耶稣基督的机会。目前，我们尚未有设立网上崇拜的计划。
回顾过去五年的发展，「信望爱之家」已带领超过250位朋友信主，其中有70多位信徒持续每周参加网课。除了圣经教导之外，事工也涵盖实体关怀、家访、餐馆探访、施洗，以及传福音的培训与实践。自2021年5月开办「福音金句」传福音班以来，至今已有165位学员毕业，学习如何向儿童、长者及基层群体传扬福音；其中2025年毕业的学员共有12位。目前，我们也已开始编辑制作一本8页的传福音小册子，盼望能进一步装备信徒，更有效地分享福音。
在圣经教导方面，目前每周已开设超过15堂即时网课，内容涵盖信仰基础、信仰生命、受洗班及传福音班。课程以国语、粤语和英语授课，并按年龄分班，满足不同学员的需要。过去，「信望爱之家」主要服侍劳动年龄层的群体；但在这两年中，主也带领了儿童与年长者（年龄介乎70岁至90多岁）参与网课。从2024年至2025年底，70岁或以上的退休学员人数已增长至30多人。此外，更新人士及高中生也逐渐成为外展服侍的对象。为此，我们满心感恩。
「信望爱之家」一路以来的异象与使命，实在蒙父神大大祝福: 福音已经传扬到不同背景、语言、文化与地区的基层群体，以及他们的家庭和邻舍。神也持续调整「信望爱之家」的网课时段，逐步突破地域与语言的限制。在北美，网上学生来自多个州；海外则包括香港、中国内地、加拿大与英国。在加州，学生的分布已从北加州湾区扩展至州府地区，并延伸到南加州。参与者的行业也从餐饮业，逐渐拓展至按摩、超市、家庭护理、食品配送、乘客接送，以及搬运与装修等多个领域。此外，线上举行洗礼也已开展多年，持续见证神的工作与带领。
自疫情以来，每一年的主题都在主的带领中逐一成就:
2021 「重整生命，重建家庭」
2022 「与神和好，以神为乐」
2023 「靠圣灵得生，靠圣灵行事」
2024 「信仰生活化，成长结果子」
2025 「一人得救，全家得救，大大喜乐」
「信望爱之家」2026年展望与代祷事项:
1. 参与网课的弟兄姊妹，都能借着圣经、圣工、圣灵和圣徒，活出父神的心意;
2.继续按照我们一贯强调的教学方针，引导信徒认识父神，从祂的眼光来领受并经历祂的大爱;
3.求主带领我们在明年（成立十周年）完成整个教学系列 (请参阅右下方所附图片);
4.愿在主里面成就2026年度主題:「新造的人、心意更新、新酒新油」。
再次感恩，主使用我全时间义务来服侍基层行业人士18年，祂还带给「信望爱之家」 4O多位义务同工，来自十多个教会的弟兄姐妹和牧者，一同来参与事奉。我们也继续捐赠金钱给有需要的人，灾难捐款，支持宣教士，等等。我们不仅是没有租赁和工資费用负担,而且「信望爱之家」一直以来也不需要向教会、非营利组织或政府申请资金支持。然而，我们诚恳地需要大家的祷告与推荐，一同传扬主的大诫命与大使命！
